Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
In one God, the Creator; eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
That Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and that He was and remains true God and true man.
That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.
That all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
To advance the gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.
Expectant faith and persevering prayer rooted in the promises of God.
Equipping and sending out the body of Christ so they will be effective in bearing fruit that remains for God's Kingdom through their Christ calling as they disciple others to do the same, thereby, move forward the Great Commission.
Jesus Christ - Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, perfectly revealed and did the will of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life as man – taking our place in suffering and death to be the propitiation of our sins. His death on the cross made provision for the redemption of men through the forgiveness of all their sins so they could be effective in advancing His Kingdom throughout the world. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body, ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living, and ever present, Lord.
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in coming to understand their Christ calling and living the ascended life through daily walking in the Spirit.
The Holy Bible is God's Word to us. Human authors, under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit—who indwells and enables every Christian to live a godly life and minister to others in divine power:
Salvation - Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by belief in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-absorbed life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith.
Forgiveness and Grace - Because of God's grace, we are forgiven of all our sins because Jesus took the punishment through His death on the cross.
We believe that repentance* is a vital part of saving faith in Jesus Christ and not a separate work. We do not believe that any actions—such as baptism, prayer, a reformed lifestyle, or faithful service—can be added to repentant faith as a condition for eternal salvation: Acts 20:21; Heb. 6:1; 2 Pet. 3:9
*Repentance (Greek “metanoia), as used in New Testament theology, means to change your mind at a heart level (mental, emotional, and spiritual transformation) about God, Jesus, sin, and dead works.
We believe in the bodily resurrection and judgment of all men. Believers will be resurrected to enjoy eternal life with God, and unbelievers will be resurrected to suffer eternal judgment and separation from God.
We believe the primary responsibility of all who are saved is to work toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission. All worldly and personal ambitions should be lower in priority than the supreme command of making disciples.
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
In the blessed hope—the rapture of the Church at Christ's second coming.
God: We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) and became flesh in order to reveal God to man.
Man: We believe man was created in the image of God to fellowship with Him, but sinned against God, becoming spiritually dead and alienated from that relationship. Apart from the initiation of God, mankind is incapable of coming back to a right relationship with God. One must be "born again" to see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3)
Christians are called to live through an understanding of their Christ identity so they can be effective in bearing fruit the remains for God’s advancing Kingdom through their Christ calling.
Church: We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God as members use their Christ calling and individual spiritual gifts to build up the body and make God known to a lost world.
The three necessary elements that must be present when presenting or trusting in the gospel of salvation are:
1. Jesus, God incarnate, was put to death by crucifixion for the forgiveness of our sins. (shed his blood — Ephesians 1.7)
2. Jesus was buried.
3. Jesus triumphantly arose, or resurrected, from the dead to provide salvation for an active life in Christ.
